Frequently Asked Questions
When you invite someone into your home, you want to feel comfortable and safe with that person. Because we will be interacting in your personal space, I want to make sure you have answers to all your questions before I arrive. Please contact me if you have questions not answered here.
What areas do you service?
Please see the Service Territory map and description at the bottom of this page. Contact me with any questions. I can meet you at your home, office, or any place you have a private space -- 10 feet x 7 feet or larger is preferred!
What will my session be like?
I will do my best to arrive 15 minutes before the start of your session to setup my table and supplies then discuss any concerns you may have, answer your questions and confirm a treatment plan. I value communication and will make sure I check in with you about pressure, pain or treatment changes as needed. Please be vocal about any adjustments you need me to make to ensure you comfort and safety - this is your time to enjoy! After your session, it will take me about 15 minutes to breakdown my table, gather my supplies and complete your payment. I am happy to schedule your next appointment or answer any final questions you have before I leave.
I hope you will be able to relax and be present during our entire session; to help, please limit distractions - phones, kids, pets - as much as possible. I am absolutely OK with your family and animals being around but please know that any time you stop your session to attend to something, that is treatment time lost.
Do you offer injury treatment?
Recovering from any accident or injury is a process and often takes holistic treatment to get you back on your feet. Massage plays an important role in the injury rehabilitation process by encouraging circulation and relaxing tense muscles, which helps your body pump much-needed oxygen and nutrients into tissues and vital organs. Massage can also decrease stiffness & inflammation, improve mobility and eliminate compensatory patterns after trauma. Whether you experienced a sports injury, motor vehicle accident, broken bone or other, I can support you on your journey to recovery.
Note: please check with your doctor or PT before receiving post-injury massage therapy.
What session length do you recommend for me?
If you just want to relax and don't have specific areas of pain or tension, I recommend starting with a 60-90 minute session. However, if you need a Sports or Treatment Massage because of chronic pain, sports-induced issues or treatment on multiple problem areas, I recommend a 90-120 minute session. If you're still not quite sure what is best, let's chat before you schedule and come up with a treatment plan to get you started.
How much space do you need to setup and work?
A safe and comfortable space 10 feet x 7 feet or larger is appreciated. If you have hardwood floors, know that my table and stool have non-slip rubber footings so it won't scratch!
Do you need me to provide anything?
I will provide all necessary supplies but, on your intake form, please let me know if you have any of the following: specific parking, stairs, an elevator, restricted access or animals/kids. If you are receiving Salt Stone treatment, I will need access to a wall outlet and small table near the setup area.
What payments do you accept? Do you accept FSA/HSA?
Yes, I do accept FSA/HSA cards. I also accept cash, check, Venmo, Cash app, Zelle and debit/credit cards. Please see the Payment & Discounts information on the Services & Pricing page.
Do you accept insurance?
At this time, I do not accept insurance payments.
What is your cancellation policy?
Life happens so if you need to cancel, I ask that you do so 24+ hours in advance so I may try to fill that time slot. If less than 24 hours, I charge a 50% cancellation fee. If you are a "no show" when I arrive, you will be charged 100% of the service fee. If you have a gift certificate or package, the service price will be deducted from your balance. However, please contact me for urgent matters or unexpected illness - if you feel sick or people in your space are sick, please reschedule.
Can packages be shared or does one person have to use all sessions purchased?
Packages can be shared. However, each person will need to fill out the proper forms prior to their service. Service Territory rules apply. Gratuity not included in package pricing.
Do you follow HIPAA guidelines?
Yes. You will be asked to sign my privacy policy upon scheduling your first appointment.
What type of lotion or oils do you use?
I use Bon Vital' lotions, gels and oils, which are nut free, unscented and paraben free. I use Plant Therapy essential oils. If you have any allergy concerns, please contact me with details before your session.
Is your 60-minute session actually 50-minutes of hands-on work?
Never! You can rest assured that if you paid for a 60 minute session, you are going to get 60 minutes of hands on treatment.
Do you have a physical location I can come to for an appointment?
My service is 100% mobile, which means I come to you in order to save you time, your most valuable commodity! If you do not have any space we can use, ask a friend, family member or coworker about using their place - you can also book back-to-back sessions so everyone wins!
I only have paid parking at my place-who covers that cost?
If I am required to use metered parking for your appointment, that parking cost will be added to your treatment total. Also, if there is no parking within a block of your space, please let me know because I will need a place to unload my supplies before parking.
